In my work as a stylist and as an educator I strive to make sure those I work with feel heard and seen. We've been taught that Black hair is challenging, which is an outright lie. Our hair is versatile and can do the most spectacular things when it's cared for properly.
I believe naturally derived ingredients are best, and that you don't have to harm the planet or yourself to have great hair. I believe less is more, beauty comes from within, and that everyone deserves to love what they see in the mirror.
My educational curriculum, haircuts, and philosophy all center around the dismantling of structural racism. I've seen first hand the impact that embracing your natural texture can have and it's transformative. I believe we all deserve to feel free and unburdened by our natural hair.
It's important to me to center Black voices and creators, and credit them for the revolutionary work that they do every day.
